MENTORING PROGRAM

Are you a business professional with knowledge and experience to share?

                 OR

Have you recently launched a small business and want to learn how to grow your business?

The Centre For Business developed the Business Mentoring Program in 2004/2005 to connect new business entrepreneurs with experienced business professionals. Mentoring is an interaction between two committed individuals who together begin to see the world differently, thereby seeing new possibilities and solutions.

The Mentoring Partnership is a two-way street of sharing and learning, where both Mentor and Mentee come together to learn and grow from each other.

The 10-month Business Mentoring Program consists of:

1) One-on-One Mentoring

  • 3 hours per month
  • Identify and work through important Mentee business issues

2) Monthly Roundtable Discussions

  • 2 hours per month
  • Round-table, peer-driven discussions on business topics
  • Featuring Guest Speaker presentation and Challenge Questions

Mentors will gain the satisfaction from helping to build better businesses in our community. They will see their business skills and experiences utilized to help Mentees achieve results.

Mentees will become more innovative, effective, creative and competitive as a result of their involvement in the Business Mentoring Program.

"I have gained great satisfaction from helping to enrich our business community. As a small business owner this program has given me the opportunity to share my experience and to see others grow and prosper. I get to see first hand the benefits this type of support can have."

Joann Bowden, Mentor

"Both myself and my business have benefited enormously from having the opportunity to participate in this program. It has been, and will continue to be, a wondrous experience to connect with someone who has such a wealth of knowledge."
              David Loopstra, Mentee
