What: Support for Business and Community Development

Projects must be completed by March 31, 2010
Where: Centre For Business service area which includes:
- Wasaga Beach, Clearview, Collingwood, The Blue Mountains, Meaford
- Duffferin County, all municipalities
An overview of the five Elements are outlined below:
Business Development
Recipients – Non-profit organizations; legal commercial entities including individuals, corporations, partnerships, cooperatives.
A maximum of $5,000 per recipient, not to exceed 90% of total eligible costs. Activities include research; business plan and marketing plan development; development of export plans; feasibility studies; research & development initiatives; strategic plans; trade show attendance.
Skills Development
Recipients - Maximum contribution for any one employee will not exceed $5,000 with a maximum of $25,000 to any one organization. Private sector 50% of eligible costs; Not-for-profit 100% of eligible costs. Eligible activities include trainer and trainee wages and benefits; software, textbooks; registration fees professional fees.
Internship – Youth – under 30 and Non Youth 30+
Recipients – same as above
Maximum contribution not to exceed $2500/month. Private sector 50% of eligible costs; Not-for-profit 100% of eligible costs. Activities include economic, tourism and/or business development; business and trade opportunity development; strategic planning; marketing projects; research and analysis; training programs; technological innovation.
Local Initiatives
Recipients – Only Non-profit organizations, including municipalities.
Maximum contribution of up to 100% of eligible costs and normally not more than $10,000 per project. Activities include community based economic development projects; research projects; marketing and promotional activities; tourism events; export and trade initiatives; facilitation or host seminars/workshops; small scale capital projects.
Community Capacity
Recipients – Only Non-profit organizations, including municipalities
Maximum contribution of up to 100% of eligible costs. A total of $85,000 will be available for all projects in this category. Activities will contribute to achieving Community Adjustment Fund (CAF) objectives through the Centre For Business and include supporting community-based initiatives which stimulate business and community development opportunities, promote socio-economic development leading to a competitive and diversified regional economy, contribute to the successful development of business and job opportunities and sustainable self-reliant communities; demonstrating broad support from the respective community; offering sustainable and measurable economic benefits to the local and/or regional economy.
